The challenge

In today’s fast-paced world, time is limited—and volunteer opportunities are fragmented across multiple platforms. This makes it difficult for individuals to discover opportunities that align with their skills, interests, and availability.

While volunteering should feel engaging and rewarding, the search process is often inefficient and frustrating. People spend time browsing disconnected sources without clarity on whether an opportunity is the right fit.

This gap highlights the need for a centralized, intuitive platform that streamlines discovery and creates a more meaningful and accessible volunteering experience.

We followed a human-centered design process to understand volunteer motivations, uncover barriers in the current ecosystem, and design a more intuitive platform that helps people connect with meaningful opportunities.

01 — Discover

Understanding why people volunteer

Through interviews and secondary research, we uncovered key motivations:

Key Insight: People were highly motivated to volunteer, but struggled to find opportunities that matched their goals.
